I have begun a new treatment for my images—not as a replacement, but as an extension of my creative work. I call this my "Evoke Series." The photos will take on a more painterly look as I digitally paint them to boost my creativity. This new approach adds another dimension to my fine art photographs. So, why am I doing this?

There seems to be more to the story, fueled by imagination, when I digitally illustrate my photos. Like the shapes of clouds, you can discover a different entity shaped within them. You can almost sense the air of a scene that suggests rain is imminent. The colors blend in a harmonious dance without being too crisp or having harsh edges. The gentle breeze brushing your face offers a comforting reassurance. You might even hear birds chirping. The perception of distance becomes altered, appearing shorter or longer due to the soft interplay of colors. By looking deeper and for a longer moment, a story unfolds in your mind, allowing your imagination to wander. These imaginative acts to my senses are how I write my prose, as if I am there. I believe that viewing is about immersing myself in the moment, both during and after my photo composition is complete. This process is essentially how I feel and react when I capture an image with my camera, and it's what draws me to capture the scenes and subjects that catch my imagination. Evoke is extending my imagination.

I hope this new approach to my "Evoke Series" enhances your enjoyment

of my work. I will continue to photograph moments as always. After all, it is the first stage of creating, and one that I love. In the end, I created my Evoke Series for my enjoyment.
